Olive Harvest 2016

With our young olive trees above The Glass House now also in production, the amount of fruit harvested this season was a record for us here at Brick Bay. We should now be able to maintain supplies of our delicious extra-virgin olive oil for many months.

Available now in The Glass House and online, the 2016 vintage continues the tradition of our Brick Bay Olive Oil, having a distinctive green colour, with an elegant buttery palate and a restrained peppery finish.

New Release: Pinot Gris 2015

The 2015 Brick Bay Pinot Gris offers you another stunning Pinot Gris in the established Brick Bay tradition of elegantly pure fruit flavours, lifted aromatics and a long satisfying finish.

Hand-harvested in perfect condition from our 21 year-old vines, a shimmering straw colour, this wine shows layered floral aromas of white lily and jasmine, summer berries and pear. The sumptuous midpalate is nicely balanced with concentrated kiwifruit, nashi pear and braeburn apple notes leading through to a satisfying crisp and clean finish.

Vintage 2016

What a rollercoaster of a vintage so far! A mixed bag of wind, rain, humidity and loads of sunshine for good measure..…a real test of our viticultural skills. So how do we handle such challenging conditions?

Healthy vines are more able to withstand the pressures of disease, an open canopy exposes the grapes to sunshine and wind movement, and only quality bunches are harvested.

To date, we now have both our blocks of Pinot Gris safely in the winery, clean, fragrant fruit to produce our classic varietal. And….yes, the word is out – our first small crop of Chardonnay! Possibly only 50 cases, but we’re super excited about this new addition to the Brick Bay stable of fine wines.
